ADB to supply HD digital video recorder to Yes

Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) has announced today 01.04.2009 it will supply Yes with its ADB-7820SX advanced high definition digital video recorder (DVR). This agreement follows an initial supply of HD set-top boxes when Yes launched its high definition service in 2007.

"We are delighted to have secured this new agreement with Yes, said Jim Lomax, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, ADB. "ADB has supported Yes in supplying state-of-the-art digital television equipment for over seven years. We believe that these new units will enable Yes to further enhance its digital satellite television business."

The ADB-7820SX is an advanced high definition DVR incorporating dual tuners, MPEG-2 and H.264/MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding (AVC). As a result of accommodating dual tuners the unit can simultaneously record two streams and playback a third one located on the hard disk drive. The DVR includes an Ethernet interface enabling advanced services such as a time-shift mode for pausing live TV. The ADB-7820SX incorporates NDS VideoGuard conditional access (CA) technology, and NDS MediaHighway middleware.
