After checking with few TV without SCART I called METZ Israel (they do not provide the information about their TVs on their website).
I had a very "interesting" conversation with the technician there - I'd say "technician" as his idea was that SCART connector is a completely useless european invention ....
The dialog was something like this:
Me: Can you please tell me which of the classic TVs you sell has a SCART connector ?
Him: Why do you need a SCART connector ?
Me: I have a receiver and DVD player with SCART
Him: So buy Scart to RCA cable and you do not need SCART on TV
Me: But both they also output RGB and if I use RCA connection I will have to use composite video.
Him: There is no RGB on SCART (!!!) it is the same like RCA just packed in one connector
Me: (here I started to have really serious doubts about his "knowledge" on the subject) But you can see in the specification there are RGB signals abd if you have fully connected SCART with all 21 pins ....
Him: Maybe in the specs it is defined but in reality it is not used and no TV in the world (!) can get RGB through SCART (wow what a claim !!!)
Me: But look at the TVs from SONY, I have one at home , they do support it
Him: (Changing tactics apparently) anyway in USA noone uses SCART
Me: Why should I care ? I am not in USA, I am in Israel, I don't see TV in NTSC, don't measure in miles and Farenheits, they do all things differently than rest of the world.
Him: So you want to say that in Europe they see DVD on TV better because they have SCART ?
(well here I gave up , seems really a lost case, someone who does not even have the idea that there is Wikipedia where anyone can get all the information he is missing)
So, what do you think: For me I certainly will not buy any TV from Metz Israel , somehow I was not impress by their knowledge of the even basic technology
